I am posting this to try and gain a consensus of opinion, although I suspect it will be pretty different from each individual, and their preferred option/routine, but;
After how often should the filament wiper be changed and when do you know it does? How often should the filament cutter be changed, I suspect it is when the filament doesn’t cut properly?
I have had my P2S for 3 months now, and to start off with was putting oil/grease on the screw and rods every fortnight or so, until I looked at the maintenance thing on the touchscreen, and it said “not required”, but can that be relied on to be correct?
I had to change the nozzle, at it got clogged and blocked with PETG, but that was my fault as I hadn’t dried it enough. Otherwise, I don’t think there is a real need to change it that often, or is there??
I know there is a lot of help on the Tech Assistant - I have used it for cold pulls, also for other maintenance tasks. But they don’t really give a frequency guide, as to how often something should be done. So it would be nice to hear what people think. I have seen YouTube stuff where they do maintenance once a week, and others say they have done nothing for a year or so! So very varied.
I just want to know Black and White (but I know it is probably a very grey area), is when to do something. things like;
Change nozzle wiper - every 3 months irrespective of condition
Replace Filament Cutter - every 3 months
Oil rods - every 4 weeks
Grease screws - every 4 weeks
That sort of thing. I think it would be a big help to all newbies like myself, and even the more seasoned print guys who’s machines have never gone wrong and never been maintained.
