Where have all the boosts gone?

My views, downloads, and prints are all up hopefully meaning there is just more traffic on the site. The problem is boosts are down by half and they seem to keep going down. I suspect folks are still receiving them but just not using them.

Designers are you seeing the same trend?

I suspect that people still want to give out boosts, but are not getting as many to give out.

Seem to be steady for me. It’s slower since the Christmas rush but not seeing anything unusual. I had an increase from some Valentines models and a new game model I uploaded, and another bit of a spike from a St. Patricks Day model I have that does alright but pretty normal otherwise.

For me, it’s more the opposite: more boost, much more high-quality feedback, but overall fewer random users stumbling across it. It’s almost as if the search function is finally making sensible suggestions and only directing users to me who are genuinely interested.

I took a look at your profile. Clearly, the Christmas stuff is no longer being visited, which could be one reason. In addition, your tags are extremely general, which dilutes the whole thing when someone is looking for something specific.

You should definitely think about optimizing your tags, which will help the search function classify you. Above all, you included the word ‘Christmas’ in some of your models, even though it has nothing to do with Christmas. Of course, you’ll end up being associated with Christmas. What does that have to do with Christmas?

You’re deliberately throwing yourself into a category that is both extremely session-dependent and has millions of competitors on MakerWorld. If someone is looking for a character for D&D, they are unlikely to enter Christmas.

TLDR: You’ve probably lost sight of what your D&D audience is typing into the search bar and have used tags that role-playing fans would never enter. Now that Christmas is over, you’re just going to be labeled as uninteresting.

Take a look at which 3D prints are doing well and which are doing poorly. In my opinion, your profile is a bit cluttered: extremely good designs alongside a lot of irrelevant ones could also be a reason.

Just throw this out, there isn’t even a print profile stored for it:

Just from a random new user’s perspective, who hasn’t posted any models or participated much otherwise… I got a couple boosts pretty early on after “joining” in early Dec. '25 (basically once I needed the BL account anyway for my new printer), and they expired pretty quick, before I had a chance to use them or even really understand the MW ecosystem, so to speak. Or even use the printer all that much. After that I got nothing else to give, even though I was actually using the site more. :person_shrugging:

I’m not sure how “typical” of a user I am, but I could imagine a lot of other people in a similar position after getting into the BL world since the latest releases and holidays and all that.

[ Seems I can’t “even” leave ratings on profiles unless I give my data to the Bambu Cloud… to prove I printed it I guess (which isn’t entirely unreasonable)? Honestly I haven’t really figured it out yet, and it’s not a high priority. I never print anything as-is anyway… lol. But that just leaves me with the “thumbs up” as an “Internet Points” feedback mechanism. And adding to a collection I guess, if that counts for anything. ]

Cheers,
-Max

I think it was a MW problem. I didn’t see any Boost Tokens in my profile for over a month, then about 2 weeks ago 7 appeared & 2 days later 3 more appeared for a total of 10. Five of them only had a 7 days left to use.

So those bottom ones you listed where some of my first designs and then realized people liked my mtg/dnd stuff.

I put no thought into seo for makerworld. The Muffin man guy was part of my one shot dnd session I ran. He was the big bad guy stealing Santa’s elves and turning them into gingerbread men. I had some popular instagram reels around it. That’s why he was labeled as Christmas.

As you can see from my stats below last Jan I was at 240 boosts and this Jan I’m at 54. It could totally be my niche but many views and impressions are up. Downloads and prints are pretty much the same. To me if downloads and prints are the same I would expect boosts to be the same. I think they changed boosts halfway through the yeah some I’m not expecting the same amount of boosts but I’m WAY down compared to what it was. I’m not complaining, I’m just trying to figure out why.

Oh yeah they want your data. I’m assuming most new users aren’t seeing they have boosts

Let me put it this way: attempting to understand the algorithm is destined to fail because it is constantly changing and we have no insight into it. We can only guess very roughly, as if in a fog, how it works. This is an ongoing topic of discussion on the forum.

Currently, your topic and these users here - to give just one example. This was more about the search, but you might also be interested in this topic. How the logarithm affects whether you are found.

Or topics that are set further back in time. It’s a constant talking point…

I had boosts to give, they haven’t expired yet disappeared from my boosts available.

Anyone else?

Did you read the part “ they haven’t expired “ ?

This made me check my Boosts to give. I have been rating but not getting asked if I want to boost. I see that I have seven expired Boosts. That’s a waste…. I wonder if Bambu are deliberately making it difficult to see you have posts available when rating or I’m just being dense. I do the majority of my interaction through Bambu Studio.

I haven’t received any boosts in over a month . I believe this is due to their new system .If you dont give to a big project and instead give for a say lightbox they penalize you by not giving boosts .The problem with that system is that there are only so many big projects [i.e ams riser ect.] that i want to print .But there are lots of small projects that i print always [for markets] Why should someone with 100 or more small designs be punished by points not being given out anymore. I get they want to reward big files makers but why are you punishing the little guys .I will not be doing reviews or any more designs because whats the point now.

I pulled data from my creator center for 2 years back. My feelings are definitely replicated in this data. I have more activity(downloads/prints) but less points overall and the main thing seems to be that boosts are down. Let me know what you think of this and if you are seeing the same scenario.
