Where is the plate detector

On the P2S printer? On the XiC it’s on the right side of the printer, there is no QR code or sticker on the P2S at this location.

Are you talking about the sticker or the camera?

I have seen listed a few places that

Function: The P2S uses its internal chamber camera to scan this marker at the start of a print to identify the plate type.

and the sticker listed as

Location: The code is located on the rear tab of the build plate.

  1. Difference: These second-generation plates have larger, updated codes compared to previous,1st-gen Bambu plates.
  2. Compatibility: If using an older plate on a P2S, the printer might not detect it, requiring the user to disable the feature or add a new, compatible code to the plate.

I have 3 printers:
X1C - Plate ID tag on right side of build plate holder
P1S - No plate ID tag anywhere on the plate, not on rear tab
P2S - No plate ID tag anywhere on the plate, not on rear tab

When I say ID tag, I am talking about the QR label, like on the X1C, the only printer that has a paper stick on QR code. These build plates are all OEM build plates, not after market.

OK. Is this the brand new standard plate that came with the P2S? I have read that some of the secondary plates bought with the P2S do not have codes yet but my understanding is that the PEI plate that comes with it should (I do not own a P2S).

I do own a P1S and all my plates (Bambu plates) have the QR front edge in the center so I am not sure what happened with yours.

edit: the code is not paper stick on, it looks like a little white square and is part of the finish.

Obvious question I should have asked right off, are your printers giving you an error about an unknow plate?

yes on the error. I didn’t see that code at the front left edge. Thanx for the update!!

For the P2S it seems like the main recomendation right now is to just disable plate detection through the printer screen. Or you can leave it enabled and just use ignore every time.

Here is one YT vid that walks through the process. You will have to set the plate type in the slicer.
