I am trying to better understand setting the filament print direction. I saw in the post (linked below) that you can set or change this in Bambu Labs Studio
So then it is possible in the slicer to set, or change settings for the direction.
My question is: looking at the photo, which is without any special settings, the print direction presents the possibility of weakening the angle where my print overhang starts (see the pic and arrow). So if I wanted to change the (?outside layers not the sparse infill) and make them go in a perpendicular direction; which of the print direction settings would I change? (Wall loop, interlocking, bridge…???)???
If you read the rest of that topic, you will see that the wall loop direction setting is only available in OrcaSlicer, not in Studio.
I do not know what caused the split your arrow is pointing to, so I don’t know if a direction change would help. Can you strengthen that inside corner with a fillet?
Your outside corners have some noticeable bulging, you may want to calibrate your pressure advance.
90 degree angle like that where one of the sides is squared with Z is weak. A fillet or curve would be much much stronger if the parts it’s mating with allow for one. Or reorient the object if that areae is going to get a torsion load so that the torsion isn’t trying to snap the part along the z layer
In addition the separation is likely due to the geometry and the top z gap from your support interface. This would be a good model to experiment with a 0 gap support interface with a non-sticking material (or hack it with a layer of sharpie and a pause). Big flat supports will only do like 4 material changes when its printing the interface so it goes fast still.

When you say “reorient the model” - are you talking about physically changing its position on the build plate?
Or is that something done in the slicer settings?
The toolhead is going to alway print parallel to the bed. It can not print up and down.
You can reposition the model to whichever orientation you want the layers to run but is always only going to print horizontally, parallel to build plate.
yeah, like if that model were printed on it’s side, how you have in the picture. It would be stronger in some directions and weaker in others. You can even do weird stuff and find an optimum rotation angle to tip it on it’s corner and grow carefully midair on supports so there isn’t one obvious shear angle.
Some guy on the internet is telling you to bill this one to your tuition: print another one in another orientation and try to break both in the same way with your hands.
Some of this stuff is unfortunately trial and error so that isn’t necessarily as sarcastic as it my seem.
There is a fair amount of truth in testing an object but that is dependent on the stress the model is going to endure.
