US, X1C Combo here. Just received mine, came with Gold Textured PEI Plate.
With the experiences I had with a gold textured PEI on a CR10, I got into the habit of an IPA clean and a tiny spray of 3DLAC.
So I ordered an additional gold PEI plate when I ordered the printer to supplement the cool / engineering plate. Was one of my best decisions.
On my X!C, it doesnt need anywhere near the same attention as the plate stays enclosed in the printer and not getting contaminated as much from whatever else is in the room. Still on the same tin of the stuff I bought for the CR10 about 2 years ago and still plenty of it there.
I do give it the odd good IPA clean and a tiny spray of 3DLAC - done outside the machine and well away from anything I wouldnāt want a wee touch of hairspray like glue on. About every dozen prints or so, more if itās a repetitive on the same area of the plate type print.
PETG releases from the bed just like PLA and thereās no noticeable glue residues on any print.
Iāve had one on the go since September 2023, leave the flow calibration on and 700+ hours now and never had a lidar issue yet.
Think they were just being their usual cautious.
Itās a well under driven machine in many ways.
Got my X1C last week and It indeed came with the PEI textured plate. I did not realized it did not need glue ( the old printer they have at work needs glue). So I put glue on the textured plate
textured PEI plate is the best.
I am also using the latest super tack and it is really great!
Did you do anything to your supertack? Iāve tried washing mine with water but it doesnāt fix much. From when I got it itās basically had pretty terrible adhesion. My P1S seems to actually be printing about 1/2mm above the build plate when using the supertack so Iām guessing thatās why. Plate was set to supertack and bed was leveled.
Bed adhesion is amazing. I always use now when I do not want a texture.
Washing with soap does the job same like other bed plates.
It is tricky to remove the prints as the adhesion is strong but must wait until it cools down and.
Use the blade as they recommend and be super careful not to scratch it.
