Microcenter has like 9 H2Ds in stock right meow. I could upgrade from my X1C and start printing today. The H2C is…an H2C. Microcenter does not sell those yet.
Should I drop in and start printing with an H2D today? Or would you go for the H2C and wait a little bit.
That greatly depends on you and what your printing needs are. I personally like my H2C over H2D, but the H2D is arguably a more responsible option. I find myself wanting to do more multi color prints with the H2C and it’s nice to be able to switch to a 0.2 or 0.6 nozzle without having to physically switch them out. I don’t need those options, which is why an H2D is much more responsible decision, but if given the choice I’d choose the H2C.
Never owned an H2D but the ease of everything with the H2C is fantastic for me. Also, suggest you read some of the comments from former H2D owners about enhanced features on H2C.
Id probably never need multiple AMS for what I am doing. Primary use cases would be multi-material products where some of the filaments are not AMS friendly. The prospect of switching to a .2 nozzle mid-print to add a signature/logo is very attractive to me. As a side note: I’m a little bummed that the AMS 2 doesn’t have 4 tubes going to the printer (similar to the A series). The travel time to cycle a filament is like 25 seconds.

If they are not AMS friendly they’re also not .2 nozzle friendly.
I could find something AMS friendly that sticks to it though
