Does anyone actually read whatever is in this screen? Does it provide any functionality?
I just press ok and change the filaments on the other list, because this list sometimes is not updated. I dont understand why we need to do this manual sync all the time and sometimes multiple times
Yeah sometimes I toggle that just to see, but it is a confusing UI and feels like an extra couple of clicks of waste for nothing. I am sure someone reads what is in this screen but why bambu is forcing everyone to click multiple times here instead of adding some “auto” mode or auto-sync on load and not show anything
FWIW, I never use that “sync filaments” feature, and ignore the sync prompt/toast notice. I already know which filaments I want to use for a project. Loading them in the AMS (if needed) is final step before actual printing, not the other way around (IMHO). OTOH if I sync with the wrong filaments, it will mess up the project. No thanks!
Me too, but isnt stupid to always need to dismiss this dialog? I wonder how many just click and click and click again update filaments and then set them manually as I do.
It is like I am pretty sure 99% of the people are just overiding without checking what are the filaments all the time, so it is millions of wasted clicks because bambu decided to make this little UI
I NEVER sync especially if loading a 3MF from Makerworld. I want to know what filaments the creator had in mind and not impose my biases. When I do a Hueforge print, I definitely want to know what the designer had in mind before I start tinkering.
Oh I totally agree about useless dialogs and such, what a waste of time. I even try to fix some, FWIW…
But somehow I don’t ever have to deal with that one though… I’m not entirely sure why…
I do use the “Sync info” at the top once in a while, to get the nozzle info mainly. And after that Studio prompts to sync the filaments next, with a temporary overlay message, but I ignore that and it goes away.
(As of ~v2.5.2 anyway, haven’t tried “Sync info” in latest versions.)
I “never” use the button at #3 though (sync filaments with AMS). Unless I’m ready for my selected filaments to be changed, anyway. And literally never used the mapping feature. I make sure everything is mapped properly when sending to the printer.
Is it forcing the AMS sync dialog on you at some point in your workflow?
yeah every time I open a model from makerworld it comes with their own presets, so mechanically I press sync to get stuff “in sync” but I dont really understand why, maybe I am just wasting clicks and I should do what you do
ah yes cool improvement! the nozzle filament also should be suggested. Now it is a mess if you combine 2 sizes, when pressing sync it asks you which size but several times, like 3 for no reason
