I keep seeing posts, where AMS’ are hooked up to the right hot end. And you can get to 24 color on that hot end.
Why can’t you hook up an AMS (or multiple AMS) to the left hot end? Or can you?
I realize that 24 color is already over the top, but it seems that it’s more of a software issue than anything to allow AMS’ to be connected to both the left and right hot end.
Am I missing something?

You can hook AMS units on either to the right or left nozzles.
You need a switch that doesn’t exist. Tell me how you would attach an AMS to each hotend?
Huh, I have an ams connected to each hotend. It’s no problem at all. Soon Bambu will release a switch so that both ams regardless of hotend connection will be able to switch sides to take a filament color. This way you no longer have to take a color out of the right ams to put it in the left ams.
You can. The H2D has two ptfe inputs, one goes to each hotend. You can connect one, or multiple AMS up to each. If you do multiple you’ll need a splitter.
I have 2 AMS2 PRO and 2 AMS HT connected to each hotend with 4-in-1 connectors. But it would be nice to have all connected to the printer and a switch decides what filament goes to the left or right hotend. You would still need to have the two filaments in different AMS since there is only one outlet from the AMS.
Just to be clear we have seen many post how they hook up a ams to both sides and i think if you are ‘bambu lazy’ you should always have at least a HT connected to the left side since it means you get auto loading, rfid detect, drying and having the spool in a closed box. I personally for now am ok in having 1 HT unit on the left and 1 HT+2 ams2’s on the right. The one on the left could be more units i fully get that but having at least a HT on that side allows you to be ‘bambu lazy’
