Why capitals why?

Why do they not have it as automatic capitals? none of their serials are lower case, makes no sense…. another day of running the C from usb stick…. sad face.

I had this same hiccups. Just resubmit it with uppercase and wait 24 hours. Beware the ap board glue!

AP board glue, I have to assume you mean the one 6 wire clip left of the heatsink? Should I hot glue it in? That’s the only one that had a retaining substance on it.

I got the notification an hour ago and resubmitted instantly, hoping it’s not another full day wait….

Take a good photo and make a case asking for an extra usb cable. It’s a push clip that’s near impossible to remove intact.

mine came with a new 6 pin cable (and the new usb connector that i also installed) that runs to the external usb connection. old connector i was able to slice the retaining glue substance to remove the clip safely. honestly, it felt more like resistor dip substance than a glue, but whatever. easy peasy, just glad i dont have to jtag this thing like i used to do with dishnetwork/dtv receivers back in the football card days…

Nice. I had to spend 12 bucks for a replacement cable.

They definitely could change the property of the webform field to become Upper Case automatically.

Additionally, If they are already aware of the fact that you used Lower Case characters, they could also have corrected that and let the process run through with the corrected SN.

@SupportAssistant Improving this process could save a lot of annoyance from the users.

Thanks for tagging me.

I have already reported this issue to our team, so we can improve it ASAP. The capitalization of the letters should not matter, so it might be a different reason for it.

shane1234c Apologies for the experience.

Agreed, or even a highlight next to the entry box that all letters must be capitalized. Extra salt on the wound of dealing with the time delay is painful.

Thank you, I’m inconvenienced but not disappointed. Like a mosquito bite compared to a bee sting.

Is it required for me to put a retaining glue substance on the 6 pin connector on the AP board for the USB extension?

Sincerely,

Your favorite “spicy chicken”

Shane

Happy to hear that. We’ll do better.

In regards to the glue - usually, it’s used during manufacturing to ensure the connectors remain in place during shipping. The glue also helps with vibration that comes when printing, so it’s recommended to add some just to be safe. :+1:

hot glue to the rescue

Hopefully they can get the ticket resolved today without having to wait 24 hours…

Checking in during lunch, serial is now golden. Thanks again @SupportAssistant

Uppercase-only serial validation is common, but usually handled silently in the background. Rejecting a request instead of auto-correcting seems outdated for modern device software.
