Improved adhesion?
i havent printed on it yet… i cant really imagine the smooth is as good
The old supertack is also smooth. The new one is much better IMO.
idk the old one has a total different textrue.. its def not smooth! the new one is smooth yes!
It’s smooth, I have 4-5. Definitely not textured. The new ones are supposed to let go a little better and not get damaged as easy. Hence why I have 4-5.
A textured (if you’re thinking the gold plate) Super Tack would be a nightmare to release from. You can’t use glue on it so you’re at the mercy of the coating, which isn’t too easy to scrape without scratching.
The new one is WAY better than the older one, and you can run bed temps of 40c, so I finally don’t need the door open on my X1C. I only wish they made them for the mini’s.
I realize this is off topic, but I am curious about the comment about printing on an X1C and the door open. I have between my printers over 10,000 hours of PLA printing on X1Cs and have never once ran with the door open or the lid opened. My room ranges between 68-78 degrees Fahrenheit. I will admit my longest prints have only been 18 hours. And some of my print profiles go up to 60C bed temps.
Do people really have an issue with heat creep on X1Cs?
Sorry for the off topic.
I’ve never had heat creep either, but what I do know it’s that it’s always better to keep machines cool when they don’t need to be warm. Heat kills, and if I can print PLA at cooler temps, I will. And yes, you can have issues with printing PLA when your chamber starts going over 40c.
u can print 40 with the a1 version too…
no its not, the new BLACK one is so 98% smooth and is almost shiny! the GREY one is MATE and has a light texture on it - its almost same texture as the gold but lighter! u either have a different plate or maybe u need lotion on ur hands ![]()
i tried taking pics but u cant really see the difference beside the color
They must have different batches, mine is no where near textured. None of the 6 I have are. It is matte but it’s not textured at all. I don’t use textured plates except for some rare circumstances.
I’m not smiling.
I know I’m sure of it. So maybe you have a different batch or plate.
I have 3 plates of different manufacture for the H2, along with the engineering, the smooth, and the gold that came with it.
I have 2 bigu plates for each of the P1S, Once supertack for one, 2 for the other. I have 2 supertacks for the A1 Mini, One Biqu plate.
Pretty sure after buying (and printing) as much as I do I am not mistaken.
jup thats how my old one looks for tha a1 mini… this far away from smoth…
u wanna tell me the picture @trilerian sended is smooth’?? i dont know what u want to argue with me… u think i would even ask this questions if it wouldnt be the case?
No, listen carefully.
I’m telling you that my plates are not textured, thus not all supertack are textured.
And it was you who questioned me, btw.
LMAO
This isn’t about your personal plate !
My post is about the surface change from old grey light textured to new black smooth SuperTack.
You commented that the old ones are smoth wich isnt the case…the photo shows the micro-texture
That’s the entire point.
To return to the original question, why? According to Bambu:
However, it is not advertised as the same plate, but as “PRO,” meaning a completely new plate.
So if someone doesn’t like the “Pro” version, they would have to look for a retailer that offers the old version. Some retailers still sell them, just checked. Not for all printers!
Finally, here are a few comparison pictures:
