Good grief. I spend a good amount of time fine tuning my System Presets, even naming them something meaningful, then an update completely nukes them. Ok, fine, whatever. I rebuild them and save them as presets inside the project thinking they will be safe. Nope, an update this morning nuked them again.
Is there a way to save them before an update so that I dont lose them? Better yet, can BBS fix the issue?
Could be in 2 places dependiing on mode you are in (in windows)

I am also using my printer (X1C) without being logged in to my slicers.
Be aware that this does change the storage location of your user presets and those presets will not sync.
Logged in, your Studio presets are in subfolders of C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user\##########
where ########## is a number.
Without logging in, they will be in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user\default
User presets created while logged in will not be available when logged out, and vice versa.
User presets can be manually ‘synced’ by copying the .info and .json files from one folder to the other.
This may be a useful method of sharing a printer among family members or trusted users on the same LAN, without the need to share a password.
An update will replace System profiles in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\system
If you want your changes to survive an update they need to be saved as User profiles.
A User profile only records the changes from the parent System profile, so an update can still modify settings that were not specified in the User profile.
