I am trying to figure out why one would respool when the factory spooling of filament is far superior than anyone could possibly duplicate. If cardboard spools are what you dislike then why dont you just remove the cardboard and replace the factory wound filament on a two part bambu printed spool? Perhaps you buy 2kg spools, if so why dont you buy 1kg spools?

Some plastic spools come cracked or have a piece missing & will not print from a dryer.
Cardboard spools come in damaged also, sometimes I don’t have a spare Bambu Spool to use (because of refills) so I will use a printed spool.

Not all spools will fit in the AMS… I got one that was too wide, but it was ok as the print was inly 1 colour so I didn’t use the AMS.
So you choose to not require vendors to take responsibility for the quality of their product? There are a plethora of venders out there.
With a plethora of venders why dont you buy from another vender? I have over 100 spools all fit the ams.
There’s only a few manufacturers that uniformly wind their spools and Bambu isn’t one of them. There have been reports of over/under winding tangles and overly loose windings that can be fixed with a respool.
The tape at the end of the spool is possibly the biggest reason to respool for many.
I don’t respool but see why others do.
It was a mistake that happened once…
I mainly use Overture, which fits the AMS. When using any other brand I now check the spool size.
So I guess your going to tell us what filament you use & that you’ve never had an issue…??
