Why does my print always look like this?

Not sure why it looks like this, it seems when i use supports of any kind it always looks bad, hotend not hot enough? problem with support settings? or something else?

0.6mm top interface spacing, holy that’s a lot. You may as well be bridging, that’s printing filament into a 2 layer gap between the layer and support interface. For these types of parts, I’d generally use a support interface material (e.g. PETG wtih PLA).

However, by the looks of it, you don’t have an AMS lite, so there’s always gonna be some sort of scarring on the bottom of the support. I’d change the top support interface distance to something sensible like 0.3 or 0.2mm and try that.

Try these settings ( I use them for 0.2mm layer height). I use them for single filament supports and they work amazing. Easy removal even with TPU. Bottom is the best I can get without going to a separate support interface material.

I was having issues removing supports ages ago, and came across a post that mentioned to set top z distance to that now that you mention it since then iv had issues with quality LOL but removing supports has been easy, guess there is always trade offs.

I do have an AMS.

Going to try this now thank you.

If you’re going to have same-material supports, I would recommend a top Z distance of around 0.2mm. If the distance is >=0.4mm then you’re basically doing the same thing as bridging and the supports are useless.

If you’re doing something like a PLA/PETG combo for support, you can use 0 Z distance for that molded look. Make sure to have at least 3 interface layers, and a tip for material savings: make only the interface PETG if the model is PLA, and vice versa. You can also have the bottom Z distance set to 0.

For some ease in troubleshooting, what material are you using for support and for the model?
