Many people say 3D printing releases fumes(for mostly no enclosure) so if the weather is stable, why not print outside?

If the weather is stable now, I don’t want to move the printer when it is not.
I live in Florida and I can confirm the validity of @CincinnatiDesigns list. As a test I just took the A1 mini outside and I was bombarded by 11 of the items on his list simultaneously… plus mosquitoes!
I was wondering if FL was a euphemism for mosquitos or alligators. ![]()

I live in california so the weather pretty much stays the same the entire day, we have now mosquitos, if the printer was placed in the shade on top on a balcony with power. Would this be possible? I was curious since many people say printers release toxic fumes and small microplastics into the air and since many people with smaller printers may not have a seperate room with a whole ventillation setup, could this be a solution? Thanks to all those who have replied.
If you can mitigate the issues, there is no reason why not.
Over here we would be electrocuted due to the amount of rain.
Contaminates blowing into your model being printed might be an issue. Anything that could crawl over it, more problems.
The biggest issue outside is maintaining a consent and draught-less temperature. As this makes prints fail.
There is a reason printers are enclosed.

Some sunscreen lotion will do, or use the glue stick - the printer can’t tell the difference. Somehow no one mentions flies, ants, and rats.
Worth a try. If the printer is an A series, a DIY enclosure is probably needed to help maintain a constent bed and chamber temp.
Once a user did a successful print with the printer on the back of their car while driving. Maybe BL can make a super sturdy printer that can print outside or on a moving vehicle. Maybe a small frame printer with a stabilization system. Everythig, including the filament, is enclosed in one sleek unit. The target customers are those who move a lot, or are more concerned with fumes.
Why would you even want to? Maybe if you had a shed with electricity.

The concern about fumes raised by OP is legitimate, particilarly when printing engineering filaments. If there is a printer that is mostly self-contained and can handle outside elements, or at least can handle the frequent moving in-and-out of the house, it can appeal to those who want to avoid the fumes inside the house.
Having a printer in printing mode while having friends over for outdoor bbq can also be appealing ![]()
Some may take a cross-country road trip and bring the printer to keep printing while driving ![]()
I know that was probably a joke, but back in college I kept an Ender 3 running in the back seat of my mustang. Amazing waste of time to go check on your printer during classes.
Sometimes AI creates a picture that even though it has serious problems it’s just so funny you don’t try and fix it ![]()
