Bed adhesion is almost never an issue with the print profile, and almost all comments people leave with this selected are actually due to poor plate cleanliness, filament choice, plate choice, or one of many other things… none of which are not related to the print profile.
Most of the time when I report low ratings with this selected, Makerworld will remove the ratings, but I just also am wondering why this shows up as a suggested reason for a low rating in the first place.
Are you on an XY core or a bed slinger? I can show you cases where things will fall over on an A1(M)… just go to MakerLab, Relief Sculpture Maker, and design yourself a coin… maybe medallion is the better word… because now you’ll try and print it standing up with 10cm diameter.
Without additional supports painted, a brim is not gonna cut it, the thing will start to wobble and fall over the taller it gets… my guess, you’ll have a print fail at around 8cm. Now, on a P1, X1 you can build as high as you want, but with the As… this could in fact be a design issue rather than a user error.
So if the person that uploaded the model didn’t uncheck A1 and A1M but designed and successfully printed on a P1 or X1, you do in fact have this case. And, why would that person consider adding some (for him) unnecessary supports to keep the thing from falling over, which it won’t for him on an XY core.
That said, I once had a user tell me that some part of my model fell off 90% of the time… didn’t bother asking him if he in fact printed the model 10 times to get to this percentage. The rest of the comments were all five stars. So yeah, most of the time it’s what you said.
to be honest here…non of the issues are the creator problem to be blamed on.
especially support issue (unless the creator decided to go town with the parameters) LOL.
if you use a bad brand or an old filament all the above mentioned issues will be caused by that…not to mention the lack of experience / machine scheduled maintenance.
the thing is i want to interduce a new system for print profile but I’m pretty sure whatever change happens you can never run away from new user’s lack of knowledge or have to troubleshoot the issue before deciding to blame the creator.
Most of the time no, the few times are because its poorly supported with the includedsettings
I imagine this option is more aimed at the model as there is currently no way to rate the model specifically, for example i could design a decently sized model that only had a couple of very small contact points on the bed, that would 100% be a me as the creator problem that would likely cause a number of bed adhesion issues when trying to print it, depending on the model you might not be able to add more support and a brim might not be enough
