Why is build plate detection failing with latest slicer and FW?

bug-report

Using latest slicer 2.0.2.57 and latest Firmware 1.08.05 in X1C.

Build plate detection after reading the build plate symbol is failing. The printer “thinks” it’s detecting a different plate. Has the plate symbol changed? Is Bambu forcing everyone to upgrade their plates?

Why?

Did turn off the detection in Print Options → Enable detection of build plate position. But not ideal as I did rely on this working properly in the past.

Thank you for pointers!

Given the other issues I’ve read about related to the latest firmware and software versions, it just sounds like there are a lot of bugs introduced in Studio v2.x and possibly the latest printer firmware. Hopefully they will be resolved quickly but I’m personally holding of upgrading both for the foreseeable future since I am not using the H2D or the new AMS units.

I’d suggest downgrading Studio first to see if that resolves things. If not, then downgrade printer firmware.

Have you checked and cleaned the LIDAR lens?
If it’s dusty or has a fingerprint on it, that could definitely cause this kind of error.

You can find the official cleaning guide for the X1C LIDAR here:

Even if you don’t get this error code.

I have started having these issues on my h2C as well. Is there an equivalent part that I can wipe over again?

I have reverted Bambu Studio (latest version could not even allocate filament to heads!) but not the firmware … I will look into that as well.
