Why must the printer stay powered on during AMS HT drying?

Hello,

I have just invested in an X2D printer with two AMS HT units. To my great surprise, I discovered that I cannot run an 8- or 10-hour filament drying cycle without leaving the entire printer switched on for the whole duration.

Since each AMS HT has its own mains power supply, I naturally expected it to be capable of drying filament independently. Having to keep the printer powered on all night when it is not being used for printing seems unnecessary and inconvenient.

Please consider adding a standalone drying mode, ideally through a firmware update. The printer could be used to configure and start the cycle, but the AMS HT should then be able to complete it independently.

For equipment at this price level, this functionality would seem both logical and expected.

Thank you for considering this improvement.

All functions of any AMS or HT is controlled through the printer. Power off the printer and the HT shuts down as it does not have it’s own controller. Want a controller for the HT? Simple fact is if you want it to be a standalone, you have to pay more for it.

printer controls and monitors the AMS and HT units. There is no work around.
