Why you should not use a standard USB thumb drive in the X2D

I didn’t have a “low Profile USB drive” so I just used a 128 GB standard length drive I already had and here is what I discovered:

The various PTFE tubes and wires that attach to the print head rub on the glass top of the printer, so I made a 1 inch high riser. Good idea, HOWEVER during a print job where the printer head moves at a rapid pace, the riser bumps against the USB drive, leading me to wonder how long it would be until the USB socket attached to the AP boardwould become damaged, or possibly broken off of the AP board ($50.00 I think)

So now, I have removed the standard length USB drives, and ordered one of the “low Profile” USB drives from Amazon.

Good to see that you discovered the advantage of using low-profile USB drives in that case.

Yeah, the only real mistake was in the cost of the AP board, it’s $150.00, not $50.00!

BTW, the cost of the low profile USB was exactly double what the same model I bought for the P2S last year -
