Just for fun I checked the current contests and found confirmation for why I can’t be bothered entering them.
Let’s start with the model car contest LOL
KEYCHAINS, puzzles and one stolen model after the after.
Like the flintstone car taken from Sketchfab and entered by several people.
A painted bus - with a miniature print pic so tiny and blurry that it shows nothing…
Even a printed garage door for crying out loud.
In the school supplies contest we find chess games, KNIFES, figet toys, sligshots and what not…
Whiskey, Tango Foxtrot !!! I am sure every kid in school needs a knife and such…
In the bio contest we again find knifes right away but also nutcrackers alien and other fantasy diagrams, dinosaur puzzels and lots more cr ap…
There is people literally flooding these contests with entries that should not be there and they keep doing it again, again and again.
The contests are a bad joke, there seems to be no oversight, no one removing the rotten entries, the copycats, the spammers.
I can find far too many models entered instantly on other websites, often many years old.
It stinks!
Here’s my 5 cents worth to this concept:
Only allow ONE entry per member and no multi accounts.
Only allow models that where created within the runtime of the contest, no oldies, no copies of the work of other creators.
BAN those constantly breaking the rules and flooding contest!
Contest should be for creators, not for fakers and pretenders, means: Keep the AI and app created models OUT!

Ineligible Models

- Models that have already received rewards from the MakerWorld 3D Design Contest.

- Old models, i.e., models that were published before the Contest Period.

- Models uploaded as Remix and Share will be ineligible to be considered for winning.
If that’s is their rules then why are there so many vintage models taken from other hosting sites?
And if someone won’t upload the works of others as a remix or share but fake it as their own work still no one cares…
Guidelines - well, sort of…
1. Upload your original 3D models to MakerWorld in .3MF or .STL format. Including a Print Profile with your model can help you gain more Likes and Downloads.
2. Upload your original 3D models within the Contest Period.
3. Each model must be printable on an FDM printer.
4. Include photos or renderings of the model(s), preferably showcasing actual makes of the model.
5. Write a model description.
6. After uploading your models, navigate to the Contest page and select "Join the Contest".
7. Click the "Compete" button for the models you wish to enter into the contest.
8. Each contestant will be allowed up to 5 entries per contest. Uploads exceeding this limit will result in failure to join the contest.
9. Models identified as irrelevant to the contest theme will be removed from the contest page and result in a 100 point deduction.
Number 1 is violated with almost every second entry by the amount of stolen content.
Number 3 is often nowhere verified, not even with REAL pictures showing a print.
Number 4 almost NEVER shows a screenshot from a modelling software - because the ‘creator’ did not use one…
Number 5 is often creative - in terms of an excuse trying to justify why the model was entered.
Number 8 ??? Why five models, especially seeing how so many just upload 5 times c r a p…
Number 9 - REALLY Then why is this not happening and why are those often winners of prices ???
Now imagine someone from Makerworld would dare explain their shortcoming and why their contests are so rotten…

Reported a number of old models, stuff I’ve seen before turns up in the new feed so I go check and sure enough the old one is gone, new one is still the same old. I have to laugh at one schemer who forgot to delete their old one 
I reckon Makerworld should do “Live” competitions (similar format to TooTallToby CAD comps) held on a rotating time where an hour stream you have to design a print solution to a subject matter.
