I also have ordered a sample wood spool right now. I am really struggeling about the colors and finish. Letā€™s see how the first test print will look like. I have a wood-style model, which I will try to increase the wood style with wood filament. I should use less ā€œwoodā€ in this posting, however,ā€¦

This is NOT Bambuā€™s wood filament:

But this was a very old, bubbly wet mess of a spool of wood filament I had lying around. This is however the texture I would expect from wood and I am not seeing this in the ā€œfine dustā€ wood samples from Bambu. Iā€™d like to be proven wrong though, so I hope somebody can share some prints shortly!

Given that they not specifically recommend a .6 nozzle, I would say the wood component will be minimal, Iā€™m sure it will be much more about the colour (and maybe a slight smell when printing) than anything else.

That being said even filaments with higher content, only really give the wood feel if you play around with the temperatures and do some post processing with sanding and varnish use to actually get closer to a wood look

Strangely, back in my days of using extremely obvious wood infused filament on my then Creality CR 6 SE (which I loved), it only ever had a 0.4 nozzle, there were never recommendations to use a different nozzle size (I had many, because I liked accessories), but the companies never considered suggesting other nozzle sizes.

It printed perfectly, the clean up of support was a different matter.

In donā€™t doubt your logic as everything is recommended these days, just a story from the past.

I have been told the printer I ordered to gift to a school is on the way, but, no news on the Wood filaments being shipped.

Pretty disappointed in the new Bambu wood (specifically used the Rosewood)ā€¦ I wish I could provide some feedback on the print quality, but it clogged my E3D 0.4 nozzle on my P1S HARD. Not even a mm extruded.

Made an expensive, hardened, high flow hotend completely useless now. First few passes at unclogging have been wholly unsuccessful.
