I wanted Archimedean spiral across multiple pieces and kept getting each piece with individual spirals instead of a big one across the grouping; so I devised this workaround for some niche use cases:
- Add a negative for the part to create a crevice to insert it into later
- Reduce the areas by 0.5mm (offset path in vector app or similar in CAD app)
- Design connecting pieces in vector or CAD to make it one large piece of art
- Make approx 0.6mm tall to get at least 3 layers thickness in print for strength
- In Bambu studio: to get holographic or very flat effect, flip art upside down to print face down if desired.
- Archimedean spiral pattern for bottom, Zero walls
- Concentric for other layers
- Grow the piece until the spiral follows the connectors using the settings in the video
- Fine tune layer width to get a nice narrow pattern, and layer height to get at least 3layers thick
- Print, snip the connectors, glue into place.
