I have the same problem: new H2D out of the box, the left nozzle won’t take the filament unless I force it in for the last half inch. the toolhead wheel is spinning in the wrong direction not to ingest the filament but to pushing it out. on the right nozzle, everything works fine. it is a pain, how did this even pass QA?
I have been having the same problem with my H2D. About 90 days after I purchased mine (almost exactly with the manufacture warranty ran out) it started doing this after numerous successful prints using both heads.
I have replaced the extruder motor, the entire extruder assembly, both 0.4mm hot ends, and the filament buffer after reading several other posts that suggested replacing those parts one at a time. Nothing has fixed it. Basically feel like I spent $2500 on an X1C and am very frustrated.
Are there any possible solutions I am missing? It will load the filament perfectly, but as soon as I start a print, the extruder motor turns the opposite direction and pushes the filament out and the printer pops up an error message saying that the filament on the spool is stuck (which it is not).
I will reiterate, the problem stems from the FW being much too strict with the interpretation of the buffer signal. When the filament arrives at the toolhead filament sensor, the printer listens for the correct buffer signal. If it is not detected, this leads to the abort of the loading sequence. If it is detected, the AMS initiates a push sequence that makes the buffer bounce back and forth. If this movement is not detected exactly as required, the loading sequence is also aborted. The FW handles both of these extremely strictly and if there is only the slightest variation, loading will be unsuccessful. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done about this right now other than to ask Bambu Lab to either increase the tolerance or make it an accessible setting for the user to alter.
It is to acknowledge, though, that there appear to be several different failure modes of the extruder wheel spinning in the wrong direction. Many are not addressed by the loading behavior I describe. So we appear to be dealing with several unrelated phenomena here.
UPDATE: I just recently replaced my extruder control board after the printer started failing to even detect filament in the left extruder. The printer now loads and unloads filament perfectly with no flaws (including from the AMS-HT). However, as soon as I start any print (from Filament-Saving mode, Convenience Mode, or Custom, it does not matter), the motor begins to turn the wrong direction. I have attempted to print from the Bambu Handy app, from Maker Studio, and export to a clean, brand new USB drive.
This leads me to two possible thoughts: As Kulfuerst has stated, it is an issue with how the main board is interpreting the filament through the various sensors and there is an ever so slight friction restriction from a bent, kinked, or otherwise mishappen PTFE tube, or it is an issue with the GCODE. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of how to manually edit GCODE, so I can only test replacing the tubes leading to and from the filament buffer.
I too have this issue, except AMS won’t load to either left or right nozzle. external filament rolls print fine from either nozzle. Warranty support keeps throwing parts at it but nothing has worked. So far, i’ve replaced the AMS feeder motor and board as well as the filament buffer.
I’m having the same issues…. I tried everything that is already mentioned. Anyone know if bamboelab wil fix this issue?

Update for anybody dealing with this issue:
After replacing everything except the camera and cooling fan on the print head assembly, I had given up for the time being (the problem was leading me to think it was the AP board in the upper left corner of the printer).
I just recently upgraded my H2D with the Vortek system, which comes with a new AP board. My printer is working perfectly, like a brand new machine. So a possible solution is a new AP board. It is not too difficult to replace, but you will need to register a new serial number with Bambu Lab before running any prints or calibrations, which took a couple days. If you’re not planning to spend the $800+ (and 4-5 hour detailed install time) on the Vortek system, the AP board is around $199.
Just be careful when removing the cables from the AP board as some models have a cable that is secured in with silicone and the WiFi plug is fragile. Hope this helps others with this issue.
I’ve replaced the extruder cover and checked all both nozzles and I still get issues. I’m so confused with this printer and I’ve only had it 6 months
