what do you use for the lubrication of the y- and x-axis?
Of course, the short answer is always the BL lubricant oil. But for real, it’s way too expensive regarding the fact that we have standard recirculating ball bearings for the x-axis and plain bearings for the y-axis…
I found some older threads in the forum, sometimes talking about WD40 dry PTFE spray for other BL printers. Has somebody tested this with the H2D? Or another lubricant?
I’ve always use Super Lube oil and grease (grease for Z screws), never used the Bambu ones that came with the printer because these work perfectly
I use these as well, they work!
I use the Bambu stuff, that’s what’s recommended and it’s not expensive.
x1 for superlube and I believe it’s made in the US?
I’ve used the bambu stuff when I couldn’t find my super lube grease, the H2D shook it off the table and it somehow ended up under the printer table, was lost for a bit…
For the lead screws and linear rods of the H2D they advise the following:
When to lubricate
It is recommended to check and lubricate the lead screws every three months. You can use the BX-300/F series grease in the link, but other lubrication alternatives can be used.
A popular lubricant is Super Lube 92003 Silicone Lubricating Grease with PTFE or Lucas Oil 10533 White Lithium Grease which should work similarly.
I would like to see a machine’s lead screws that do a lot of laser cutting. I would be wiping that ■■■■ off almost every cut I would think.

Maintenance is covered nicely and tells you what your options are.
Also other brands that aren’t made by BL.
For one thing Grease is recommended NOT Oil!
lead screws = grease
rails the tool head travel on and rods = oil
also, I forget which machine, maybe the H2D, there is some maintenance with oil on the toolhead with the nozzles switching back and forth.
Double-check the above, I might have missed a few, but that’s basically what I’ve been doing on my machines.
TLDR - Some parts require grease, some oil, check the maintenance schedule and tasks for your machine in Bambu’s documentation.
You need to check yourself before making generic comments like this.
I use the 21030 variant which seems to work fine as well.
