Hi! I’ve been printing great on my X1 Carbon for about a year now and it’s been working perfectly until just recently. Now it prints too far forward - it’s the only way I can think to describe it. The nozzle doesn’t go back as far as it used to, so any multi color prints crash over and over because the poop chute gets clogged. Is there an adjustment I accidently hit? If you look at the pictures, the poop is too far forward as well as the extrusion test strips. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Welcome to the forum.
There is a high probability that your nozzle is bent forward. Recommend removing it and inspecting it.
Indeed it is! Can I just bend it back? Or should I replace it?
Also, what could bend it like that?
Definitely replace it. Even if only slightly bent, bending stuff back rarely gets them back in the perfectly correct place and shape. Especially since the original bend probably occured when it was hot, wheres the bend back would be on a cold nozzle.
They can bend due to collisions for a number of reasons. A favorite is forgetting to remove an object on the build plate, significant part curling or, that happen rarely happens but I would not rule it out, the occasional bug or faulty movement command.
Will do! Do you have a link for that? When Is search Bambu’s site for nozzle nothing like that comes up.
You can find either the complete Hotend assembly or only the Hotend itself in the Bambu Shop.
The latter requires you to also (re-)attach the thermistor and heater but it is actually quite easy.
There are pretty straightforward instructions in the wiki.
Those both return 404 Page not found. Is there another location I could find them?
Sorry, I found it. Search FTW! Thank you so much for your help!
They work for me. It is the German Bambu shop and the Bambu wiki. Maybe you can try use Google, Bing or any other search engine for the “Bambu Labs Shop” in your country? Should come up pretty high up on the list. You can then use the in shop search using “Hotend” and you’ll get there.
Thanks so much! I was able to find them.
Is the build plate marker correct? It looks like it is shifted toward the edge slightly and the code matrix is 4x3 instead of 4x4.
Heya jetpad,
It’s the same way I’ve always done it. The nozzle/extruder was bent forward though so I’m pretty sure that is the issue.
Just a FYI, your printer came with a spare nozzle in the accessories box. It’s easy to forget about it.
JonRaymond,
Well, I’ll be damned…would you look at that. Lol, thank you!
You have nothing to lose by manually running the extruder to the front centre, removing the insulation boot, then setting the temperature to 250, then bending the nozzle forwards gently with a pliers. If it snaps, you have the spare. If not, it works again - free fix.
CanDo,
Thank you. I did try bending it back. It went a little further back than before, but it appears to be working great on multi color again. Thanks to everyone’s help!
