Got mine less than a month ago and haven’t stopped printing yet, this thing is amazing
It’s a great printer, I recently got a P1S for home and it has exposed to me just how good the X1 is in comparison
Waiting for mine to arrive.
Now, “Best thing I ever bought myself?” That’s interesting. Hope it lives up to that! So many things to make, so little filament purchased with the first order. LOL.

I got my X1C as a Xmas present after getting back into the hobby in September when I bought a Flashforge 5M Pro. The X1C is FAR superior! I loved it so much I went out and bought an A1 last week to add to the collection, much to the chagrin of my better half who is now calling me a 3D printer hoarder! The A1 is pretty great too, but the X1C is amazing!
As someone who got a P1S, it was definitely the best thing I’ve bought. The amount of things you can make is amazing.
I’m curious as I see many posts saying the X1C is not worth the premium over the P1S but you seem to be saying the X1C is a much better printer?
I have no skin in the game (I own the X1C myself) but wondered what exactly you are referring to in your post.
Is it the convenience features such as better screen, LIDAR etc. as I am led to believe the print quality is identical and the extra features are not worth an extra £500 to most people.
Then again I’m not most people and they were to me which was why I bought it in the first place but then again it is my first 3D printer!
Thanks & kind regards,

Yes all the features you mentioned made me buy the X1C, I am over 60 so the larger screen definitely easier on the eyes, and from the reviews I have seen you don’t have to do a lot tinkering with the machine to get it to work as I have not experienced any problems so far
I don’t have any skin in the game either, I’ve got an X1C and a P1S at home and until last month had 9 X1Cs at work.
I don’t think it’s worth that massive £500 premium over the P1S for the average user, but it is a (much) better printer
Print quality
I’ve read this a lot, and it is identical for the average user that prints with “generic PLA”, put the same filament in both and print on generic pla and you’ll get roughly the same quality with some obvious mostly visual artefacts caused by no flow compensation (walls not connecting to infill etc.
But for everyone else that creates detailed filament profiles and with the LIDAR I can and do get visibly better quality on the X1C than I could ever hope for on the P1S
Hardware
It has it’s own support CPU just for being able to do more than one thing at a time, which saves a ridiculous amount of time and frustration - “printer is busy” - Ok, P1S, Obviously the camera, lidar, screen and other creature comforts.
The X1C was worth it for me because of the quality it can output compared to the P1S, when quality was needed
waiting LOL. Learning freecad and Bambu studio. Some frustrating issues, but learning
(I’ve bought my self better things LOL but it should be very fun to learn and use)

+1… I’ve been printing for 10+ years. I got the X1C after the pre-order debacle with the Prusa XL. They finally wanted FULL PAYMENT BEFORE I COULD GET AN APPROXIMATE DELIVERY DATE!! This was after a 2.5 year wait on a 1st day pre-order. I gave up on Prusa. I bought an X1C and 2 AMS.
The X1C does just about everything flawlessly. I’ve loaded 5+ year old PLA into the AMS, and it figures it out and prints it nicely. The parts are good quality and a reasonable replacement price. My only question is the new ‘security changes’. We’ll see how that sorts out. I’m not giving up my Orca Slicer.
I just have to ask, anyone using “Non Bambu” filaments? Any issues?
Not because of a price issue, but they are kinda Slow on shipping stuff.
Mike
I have not had issues with other branded filaments—also no shipping delays.
The product shipped the next day. But was sent from California to New York by ground. Both the printer and the separate package of filaments. So an order for more bambu branded supplies would be similar. A week. I’m used to sellers using the new thing called the Airplane to ship things across the country not the pony express. I did not see any option for faster shipping. Perhaps I missed it?
