X1C camera access through LAN / 3rd party app

With all that new Auth I assume more people are moving to LAN mode. The only thing that I really like about the cloud is being able to check my print without having to open my laptop.

I know, it’s not possible right now to use LAN mode on my phone. Mostly because there’s a lack of any SW other than Bambu Handy. But wondering if there is any other technical hurdle?

Orca is open source, and it accesses the camera, shouldn’t it be possible to make a small smartphone app that does nothing but allow me to access the camera stream ( when I’m on my home network)?

Just add an inexpensive camera and an app.

I have all that already here, raspberry pi, webcam & octoprint … but then it turns into a Prusa

I was really happy to get away from mediocre hack solutions after switching from prusa to bambu

The printer has a cam already and there seems to be open source access, so it must be doable

From what I’ve read, the home assistant plugins are really handy for remote monitoring.
Then pair it with a vpn from your home network to your phone and you should be able to access your home assistant dashboard from your phone, anywhere, without exposing your home network to the internet.
