X1C Lan Connection Across Subnets

The latest version of Studio claims to be able to connect via IP and access code.

If I connect to the printer via Access Code I get the message “Connecting to Printer, dialog will close later”. The dialog closes and nothing happens.

To test this out, I turned off LAN only and bound my printer to my account. When I tried to Bind by access code it didn’t allow it as “this printer is already bound” so it’s at least talking to the printer successfully, it just doesn’t pop up in Studio.

I can’t use the cloud as my work firewall blocks access, so LAN Only is my only option.

What causes studio to fail to connect after saying it has connected to the printer?

Having the exact same behavior with our X1C. Although we can work around the issue using third party applets, we had hoped the update would have provided the functionality advertised.

Try OrcaSlicer, they found a fix for subnet access back in February and it is incorporated in Release 2.3.0.
