X1C Mystery Noise at the End of Homing – Need a Hint!

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping the Bambu community brain trust can help me diagnose a strange new sound my X1C has started making.

Everything runs perfectly, but right at the very end of the Z-homing sequence, it lets out a bizarre noise that doesn’t sound quite right.

strange noise

idk if thats the wrong video, but in that clip, you push the XYZ control’s Z up 10mm like 50 times. Each push is a queued action, and there’s only 255mm to go. What you’re hearing is the Z stepper motor trying to continue on at your command, and getting stopped by physics

homing is a separate action, with a little house icon on it, in the middle of that “d pad”. anything concerning happen when you use that?

Bullocks is right, the noise is from trying to move beyond the travel limits. Homing should fix it, but if it does not, I would re-run the printer calibration routine and then, as a last resort, restore factory settings.

Ordinarily, if I use manual controls after homing and attempt to move beyond the travel limits, the command is just ignored.
