Ideally, I’d like to be able to purchase just the retaining clips on their own, but they’re only available with the complete hot end assembly. Has anyone got a brand / part that they use for these? (Must be purchasable in the U.K. / Europe as we can’t purchase from China due to company restrictions)
I have seen that some people are using the printer without the clip, but I’m not keen on this, if there is a different workaround (maybe something like using small metal cable ties instead that other people have tried, I’d be interested to hear it)
I think this one is one warrants opening up a tech support ticket and asking Bambu to either make the part available for sale or send you some replacements. Since this would be a rather seldom-requested after-market item, I would doubt one would see this in the regular channels but certainly stuff like this appears on eBay all the time. So you may get lucky.
To be clear and to aid you in your search, these are the parts you are referencing, correct?
You are wise to be wary of operating without this clip. It’s what holds the ceramic heater onto the nozzle and therefore contact is crucial for correct operation and thermal conductivity.
However, these clips come with the ceramic heater and aren’t that expensive. Just to make sure this wasn’t overlooked, did you check out this product listing on the Bambu Store?
Unfortunately we can’t purchase them from the Bambu site due to company restrictions, but I have found a retailer in the UK that does them.
I did ask the same retailer whether or not they were available separately to the complete hot end but was told they weren’t. Having since checked the listing it seems like they are.
Thanks for your help.
hanks for closing the loop. However, one point of curiosity: how did you purchase your printer in the first place if you were not allowed to buy directly from Bambu? Also, if your organization has restrictions on procurement through Chinese websites, I’m assuming that’s partly due to cybersecurity concerns. That said, is your organization aware of all the vulnerabilities - including this forum - that all Bambu users face by simply connecting to Bambu? LAN-only mode is not enough if your company is security-minded.
