I keep getting same filament tangled or jammed error when printing to right (aux) nozzle on external spool. but its not jammed. i select ‘continue’ and it will print for another 5 or 10 minutes, then do the same thing. Oh, im watching it the whole time, i see no abnormal behavior in the external filament, nothing that stands out. Then suddenly out of nowhere… the hotend will stop printing, switch nozzles, park itself in back…then retracts the filament back onto the external spool, which doesnt work well because.. well…its an external spool, and then the error appears.
I started a ticket and Bambu said to stop feeding the filament through the buffer. Does that mean not use the aux nozzle??
Anyway..bambu ticket reply continues by saying they feel its a false tangle detection and that this issue should be fixed in the next firmware.
my question: anyone else have similar issues? since they claim it will be fixed with next firmware release, i’d think some would have the issue but i’ve not noticed any other posts.
Yes I’ve been having this issue since day 1. I read on Reddit to have the external spool bypass the buffer and haven’t had any issues since. After learning how the buffer works, it allows filament from the AMS to be fed smoothly. As long as your external spool isn’t in another AMS, there shouldn’t be any issues bypassing the buffer.
I’ve been having this issue a lot too. Yesterday, it was happening so much that I tried changing the bowden tube between the filament buffer and the external extruder motor. I went with a longer one which in the long run turned out worse, apparently because it causes more friction or otherwise flops around too much. I ended up going with one that was about 5-10mm shorter than the original and all my problems disappeared after that.
It seems the hard 180 degree turn is what it prefers. I just made it a hair tighter. There’s no logical explanation for why it worked.
This has been ruining my experience so far. I just got the X2D last week. I can say with absolute certainly, there is no tangle in my filament and not even excess tension on the spool. It simply stops every few minutes and this is unacceptable on 3 hour prints. This is my first time using Bambu. I’m shocked how low quality this software+hardware combo has been so far.
send a pic of the rear that shows how your PTFE is routed, maybe something’s crossed. My aux with spool hanging off the top right hanger has been fine but sure feels tight.
at least on my part, I can now say it is a faulty sensor. I simply connected the spool tube to directly to the box tube, completely bypassing the sensor, but not changing any angles and it now works 100% fine.
