Can I use Bambu Cloud with orca slicer?
I just downloaded it for Mac (nightly build) and it has the x2d profile and let me sign in to Bambu cloud. However, I don’t see any of my saved profiles and also I’m having trouble connecting to the x2d except in lan only mode which kinda sucks not to be able to monitor it with Bambu handy app. Any get this to work?
You can log in to the Bambu Cloud and see your profiles from OrcaSlicer. If you do not see the option on the Home page, go to Preferences (Cmd+P), Online tab, check Enable Bambu Cloud and also Auto sync user presets, then restart OrcaSlicer and log into Bambu from the Home page.
Once logged in, you can monitor the printer from Orca while in Bambu Cloud mode— see the video, see current bed and nozzle temps, etc. You cannot change a temperature, unload filament, print, etc.
Bambu’s “authorization” requirement prevents OrcaSlicer from printing or controlling the printer through the Bambu Cloud.
- You can export Orca-sliced G-code to a USB stick and “sneakernet” it to the printer.
- You can export Orca-sliced G-code and transfer it through the Bambu Cloud via Bambu Connect.
- You can print directly from Orca if you enable LAN-only and Developer modes on the printer. You will not be able to monitor the print via Handy. (Yes, it sucks. Blame Bambu; it doesn’t need to be this way.)
In LAN-only mode, profiles are kept in a different folder than when you are logged into the Bambu cloud. I’m not very familiar with Macs, so I asked AI where your profiles are located:
Finding and Managing Config Files on Mac
Open Finder on your Mac.
Press
Command + Shift + Gon your keyboard to open the “Go to Folder” window.Paste
~/Library/Application Support/OrcaSLicerand hit Enter to see logs, system profiles, and user data.User-defined profiles (like custom filaments or print processes) live inside the
userfolder under your specific user ID number.
You may also be able to reach the config folders from the Orca Help menu,
That user folder will likely have two subfolders, one for the cloud with a long number (your cloud ID) and another named default, which is used when you are not logged in to the cloud. You can copy your cloud-user profiles to the default folder for use in LAN-only mode.
