As with everything in life: it depends.
It’s not about “everyone” in general, but rather that Bambu should announce things a bit more in advance. For example, I wanted to buy a P2S last week, but thankfully I delayed it for various reasons. Now I can wait and see how things develop.
The reasons why someone buys a 3D printer are too varied to make generalizations. However, I can totally understand why folks who bought one in the last two weeks can be pretty upset.
At least Bambu was nice enough to have the P2S out of stock all the time in Europe so not as many people miss out on the X2D

I picked up an H2D at the end of last year just prior to the release of the H2C.
I love the printer. Why would I have bad feelings against BL about releasing something else? Even taking into account the price adjustments that has me paying about what the H2C costs?
Why the heck would I have bad feelings towards BL for continuing to release outstanding products that are better and in some cases less expensive than what I purchased. It makes no sense. I got what I paid for at the time and am extremely happy with it. That decision was mine and mine alone.
I also picked up an A1-Mini to accompany it. So when BL releases the A2-Mini, I should be upset? That would be ridiculous. I love these printers and they do so much more than I ever thought possible. Outstanding products.

No you can’t . Read Bambu’s wiki and disclaimer on x2d, and watch Faux Hammer’s full review. The secondary nozzle is for support materials ONLY.
That’s false, the secondary nozzle is not just for supports, it’s just not as good as the primary nozzle (slower, and a bit lower quality but still very acceptable). It’s perfectly fine for for example multi-color PLA prints. You can’t mix and match various nozzle sizes though for a single print which is somewhat disappointing.
You’re gonna drive yourself literally insane if you try to combine a Bowden and dde as multicolor and make it look amazing. But you are free to do so! Supports only seems rational. But at the same time, if your support looks like butts and is 0 gap, the rough imprint gets on the parts too. Idk.
That’s what I thought initially, a mini H2D and I was very surprised by the low price point, but then started seeing discussions around the fine print “1. In actual testing, print quality from the auxiliary nozzle is slightly lower than that of the main nozzle.” . Then it all clicked in why they only talked about multi-material for support in the marketing content and the promo video. No mention of multi-color. The aux nozzle is not expected to have high enough print quality for anything other than support due to the external extruder (which I thought was the new TPU Assist built into X2D), but It’s not a mini H2D. I wish it was (even thu I have an H2D) and I wish the great price was due to increased competition, but it’s from cutting corners. Still a great printer, 100% worth the extra $100 over P2S which was already a great printer.
Shame it isn’t possible to use the parts released from an h2d→h2d upgrade to upgrade an h2s→h2d - as I can’t imagine you need much more than the print bed and x axis.
I wouldn’t see it as cutting corner though. It is what a $650 printer is designed and built to have.
Features are tied to pricing tiers. The same way that an H2S is not considered a corner-cutting H2D, and H2D is not a corner-cutting H2C. They are in different pricing tiers and together they form the complete product lineup.
Clough42’s video shows that Bambu might be under-selling the aux nozzle a bit, it seems quite capable.
Just to give you some context: This is not the only truth or the sole reason - just another perspective.
Some people see 3D printers as toys, others as a hobby, and others as a source of income. There are many reasons. Perhaps I can challenge your view of “ridiculous” with this perspective:
Some users - especially those who make a living from it or own multiple devices - want to be able to plan ahead. It really does make a difference how much you pay for a device, as well as how it affects your workflow. This applies not only to hardware, but also to accessories such as filament. Unfortunately, Bambu is currently struggling in this area. Despite the high quality of the hardware, there are always delivery issues and stockouts of filament, and new hardware announcements are made at the last minute.
What you see as “ridiculous” is just a calculation to others. Planing ahead, at least a few months in advance. Of course, it’s always an emotional topic with every new release.
You can, of course, dismiss those feelings and thoughts right now. Alternatively, you could consider whether Bambus could have prevented something like that from happening.
Believe me, lots of people initially thought the same way you did and were really excited about Bambu. However, once you move into a more professional realm, you need reliable planning. Of course, you don’t have to agree with this view - not at all - I’m just offering you another perspective.
By the way: When it comes to Bambu, the true winners are usually the people who wait a long time until a 3D printer has proven itself as a workhorse and the firmware has been fixed. I already know that this firmware will surely have plenty of bugs, just like every other release.

I bought myself a P2S two months ago. And today the X2D has been released, which is more expensive by $ 100 P2S, but at the same time has a large number of functions compared to the same P2S. I feel like I’ve been warmed up like a goy!
Anyway, here’s the idea of bambu lab. Create an official add-on in the form of an active camera heater for P2S! Since many people will be able to live without lidar and a second nozzle on bowden. Honestly, I’m willing to pay for it, just not to use “crutches”.

I felt so bad, I just got a P2S 10 days ago and X2D came out with only $100 more, and I cannot return P2S. Sobbing in the corner….
Very interesting points.
I will say, I’ve retired from two different careers. I’m (chuckle) old enough to grasp business decisions and planning strategies. But not so old that I can’t enjoy a good cartoon every now and again.
I think the sticker here for me is - emotions shouldn’t really play a part in how one personally handles the marketing and planning of another company. It’s a business mindset.

I have not (nor would I ever) structure my business decisions and strategies based on the whims (or strategic moves) of any other business. All businesses study those that play in the same pool. Having gathered the necessary data, if the moves of another business impacts my business, I do the best I can to make fiscally responsible decisions and move forward - and I learn from it and work to not allow that to repeat. I currently still own a few businesses. It would absolutely be ridiculous behavior for someone (anyone) running a business to attach “feelings” to the future decisions other businesses might make. It’s counterproductive to success.
If a business model is based on whether or not Bambu Lab will release a better cheaper printer within a few months, then logic (and common sense) would dictate that business WAIT to purchase the printer in question. As that is what Bambu Labs themselves have proven time and again. Also, it’s not a bad idea to allow time for the rough edges to be knocked off and smoothed out on a new product PRIOR to making it a functional part of your business.
Maybe it’s just me. But that’s how I see it.

Bought my P2S around 6 weeks ago and got my brother so excited that he wanted a printer as well, sold mine to him and will get my H2C tomorrow. For a few days I was wondering if the X2D wasn’t a better version of the H2C but luckily enough it isn’t. Returning it to Bambulab would have cost me 195 euro.
We will expand our capacity sometime in the next few months and I’m not sure how I feel now that an X2D is in the mix. I’ll read all I can to get insights.
