Has anyone noticed this or tried it yet? As a noobie to Bambu software, it seems like something everyone was complaining about. Just surprised that there was no topics about it yet. So, is this the real deal or am I not interpreting right?

Remote AMS drying support
You can now start AMS drying directly from Studio’s Device page for AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT.
Click the humidity button on the target AMS to open the control dialog to Start and Stop the drying feature.
You can now dry filament while printing, but the drying temperature will be lowered during printing.
I recall this being discussed in at lease one other thread, if not more, but I don’t remember which thread(s) it was. The point being discussed was that it was only for the H2D and will be trickling down to the other printers over time also if all goes well with the testing.
I’m very curious when A1 series support for drying while printing will be released. I just purchased an AMS2Pro to connect to my A1 Mini, but I was disappointed to find you couldn’t dry while printing. I print from a SpacePi x2 into my AMS lite currently with no issues, so I was surprised to see the AMS2Pro didn’t have it.
I’ll include my take on this here too. I’m dissapointed with the messaging Bambu Studio displays. When attepting to pring while drying is states “Due to power limits, printing or calibrations can’t run during AMS drying. Stop drying or connect a power adapter to continue.“
I then ordered the power adapter (with some filament because I’m placing an order) to find out that this is not an option for other hardware.
It is imposible to research before hand when old information indicates that drying and printing can not be enabled at the same time and new information says “AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT drying operations can now be initiated……”
It’s not a big leap to believe it should now work.
I submited a suppor ticket that recieved a responce indicating that this may never work due to procuct design.
We’re very sorry, but the P2S currently does not support drying filament while printing. Even if a separate AMS power supply is purchased and connected, filament drying cannot be performed during the printing process. This limitation is due to the current product design and functional logic.
X1C “next firmware, coming during T1 2026” is supposed to allow offline firmware update for X1C and AMS , or so I’ve been told by the support
lets’s hope it will bring support for X1c drying while printing, so I can use the hardware I bought last fall

Dryer is now drying my nylon at 85C while a print is started. I unchecked rotate spool while drying in hopes it didn’t untangle itself after the print was done
Extremely disappointing: The AMS 2 Pro on the BambuLab X1C is, for me, a complete design failure. It cannot dry filament while printing – a core function that is simply missing.
What makes it worse: It’s the same AMS used on the H2D, where these features work without any issues. On the X1C, they’re just not there.
Without this function, the system is useless to me.
Do you have the optional power adapter for the AMS 2? My firmware tells me I can dry and print at the same time, but I’ve seen where that requires the additional power adapter, which kind of makes sense.
The AMS-HT (or at least mine) came with its own adapter. I bet many bought an extra adapter because it isn’t entirely clear if the HT comes with one, but okay.
It’s quite a disappointment though that my Ams-HT doesn’t dry in combination with my X1C. I’m still waiting for that firmware update…
I should have been clearer, I can either print or dry with my p2s and ams 2 pro, but the quick start guide (I think) said I cannot not do both at the same time without the additional power supply for the ams 2. But, I’m a total newbie, so I may have this wrong.
I own a P2S with the AMS 2 PRo Combo. I do hope they implement this as it would really be helpful to dry as you print. Even if it only helps the outside layers of your fillament spool, it is still a better reassurance for beginners that it is dried somewhat while using it during a week of printing after the 8-12 hour cycle to give it the first time unboxing the spool.
So I got the P2s, I bought the power adapter because bambu fooled me the with message saying that I need to buy an external power adapter. I bought it, and still cannot fry my filaments whilst printing. However, a friend of mine git the H2D and he is able to do that, even without an external power adapter!!!
You’re in luck, the P2S firmware enabling that released today.
