So somebody had a bad experience with one of my models, which is a possibility. However, he keeps spamming the comments with negativity so I thought I’d entertain him and reply after his fourth message, only to discover that he has apparently blocked me:
I have not replied to his other messages so it is apparent that he blocked me precautionary and just wants to send the negativity and is not open to feedback or help.
But why is it at all possible to post to users you have blocked? I would say, block somebody, end of interaction?
Just for context, this is what I would have replied:
Dude, I love you too, but you have a very weird way of showing one negative comment is ok to show other users that you had a bad experience, a bit more info on how you/they messed up will help them (print profile, filament, if you actually snapped them together firmly enough, use case, etc) but this is just plain unnecessary. Mine are still all just dandy and a lot of users have had no problems and regard them as the best spool out there. Some have come apart but most of them discovered afterwards they had to firmly snap them together. So user error is still a possibility, even for somebody as level headed as you. Still love you, byee
Not yet, because I don’t mind the occasional negative comment, most of them provide structured feedback or a balanced comment section. All of them on their own are not an issue
It sure seems that way, but I have not tested it myself (I am not hateful enough). Maybe you need to go through the “unblock - hate - block” sequence, but still, it shouldn’t be possible in my view
I would like to have a tool that let’s me block people temporarily and send them to “compulsory basic training” Where they have to grasp the basics. Upon graduation they would be automatically unblocked until next time they leave silly 1 star comment like “bed adhesion issues”.
A few days ago I had an almost identical situation. Someone had a problem with the model, gave a low rating (but didn’t write why), I wanted to ask about the details of what happened, and then I found out I was blocked. I reported this comment and described the situation, but it hasn’t been removed (yet).
IMO - if someone comments on your model and then blocks you - those comments should be hidden. Perhaps not ‘removed’ but removed from public view so that the model designer can see them, but nobody else.
Also - if someone blocks you - they really shouldn’t be able to see your profile at all to comment and, if they can, then they shouldn’t be able to comment.
Additionally - if they block you, and want to un-block you - they shouldn’t be able to re-block you for some time [a few days, a week, a month, etc]. That would help prevent the unblocking to make a comment then re-blocking.
Maybe make it so that you can still reply to the comment from the person blocking you - but the person blocking you can’t see it - just that you replied [but not what it was]. That would probably be the simplest solution so that you could publicly address the comment [for others to see] without ‘harassing’ the original commenter that has you blocked.
Lots of things that could be done, hopefully they do something about this though.
Yeah, agree with pretty much everthing.
If someone is commenting on the page of YOUR model, there is no way you shouldn’t be able to answer that.
And if you block me, you shouldn’t interact with anything related to me.
Although, as a web developer, I understand the annyoance to manage the chance for a user to unblock => doing s**t => block again.
That’s why I suggested that if someone unblocks you, that they shouldn’t be able to re-block for some time [ perhaps a few days, a week, 30 days, etc].
Edit: It should warn them when they try to unblock, before they do, that if they do they won’t be able to re-block that same user for [ X ] amount of [days/weeks/months].
This whole situation is BS. Dude comments adhesion issues and 1-star, I report it, it gets removed within 4 hours, and within another 12 hours, he does the same exact thing on the same model. Now Bambu won’t remove it, and he blocked me so I can’t reply. Dude needs his IP banned.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t work. Have a look at the topics; they may be about scammers, but it’s essentially the same issue, whether it’s fraud or fake reviews.
Thats petty and childish. If I download and printed something, and it didn’t work as described, I would first find out if it was something I did wrong, and if not, ask the person for help as to why it came out the way it did. To just Flame and spam someone is like what kids do in first grade. He hit me, no I didn’t yes you did, no i didnt. People need to grow and and take responsibility, and use Common Sense.
