Your MakerReward points have arrived

Has anyone else received this? I have 3 of these over the last 24 hours (amounts differ), but I’m not sure what it’s from or why I’m receiving it…

Nope, I’ve checked my points transactions and there is nothing like that (unfortunately XD).

Maybe this just a readjustment of your point counts after the outage. Idk

Looks like a prize, a bonus for something. Kind of reminds me of GTA Online after I successfully cleared out the ranch on the motorway, only there I got an extra vehicle.

Doesn’t look like anything has been updated at the moment. As of the 10th there are no download numbers, no points … just nothing.

I like the GTA Online reference ^^

Yes, those are Maker’s Supply Creator Incentive points, you probably reached Stage 1 or 2 for some of your models with Maker’s Supply components.

Unfortunately they still lack on specific description and data of the model(s) involved.

Thanks for the help! I must have missed the post about this topic.

That’s a big in incentive to use parts out of Makers Supply!

Thanks I was wondering what this was as well

I thought so too! That was the largest of the 3 that I received.

Now all that is required is hitting 1,000 qualifying prints/downloads for a design with MW Maker Supply parts for the first level.

That is difficult for most.

@JamesThePrinter Would you be willing to provide a link to the model?

He can’t know exactly which model it is because the rewards lack any data apart from the points achieved — he can only guess or ask BL.

I personally know because I was contacted by BL, I earned my points for this: Modern Midcentury Birdhouse - Wifi Camera enabled by michelem - MakerWorld

At this point, there is no way to know which model it came from.

Wow, that is annoying.

I like your design.

It is a shame its purpose is to welcome others. I am not fond of having humans over, inviting wildlife and providing a home for their stay is way too far a step socially for me. I’m not saying I hate all other things, I’m not saying I don’t either.

Well done, for whichever one it was.

I’m about to hit that milestone with my first model posted but nothing from the Supply at all in it. Just now starting to look into Supply parts. Picked up the big assortment and a few other interesting parts so getting there. Not there yet.

Edit - was thinking about this and I blew it - the model does indeed have a Maker’s Supply part in it - it’s a lithophane frame that uses their LED board! Woot! I’m nearing 1k on that so maybe it will pick up the award. I need to edit the page to formally link to the part instead of calling it out in the text.

It is the combination of the number and the maker supply that makes it harder which I was pointing g out.

Most users do not like the need to purchase non-printable parts to add to the printable model. It can limit the potential for downloads.

I am lucky enough to have several over the 1k mark, a few well over, none have maker supply parts.

I have a few models with magnets and humidity devices built in and they stay at low double digits.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. But I’m fascinated by some of the Makers Supply parts. The motors are like little jewels and really open up possibilities. And the bearings are really cool. I’m not looking at them so much as gateways to free printers and filament as enabling some ideas I’ve had rattling around. It’s certainly much better than models requiring oddball stuff from far flung suppliers.

I think the Maker’s Supply is a really good idea by Bambu and will see how it does. But just exploring that big box assortment is pretty cool stuff. :+1:

I am going to add an arduino to an upcoming model.

Maker Supply doesn’t have them yet.

I want to make a mostly printed classic toy from my youth. Cheaper to buy one made by a real company, not the point though.

Yep. I’ve been thinking about some stuff that uses the Raspberry Pi. Already have one print for the Raspberry Pi that has gotten a grand total of zero downloads after months posted but it’s pretty niche.

A little smarts can really change up 3D printing.

I for one would love maker supply to support arduino’s and ESP32’s. The possibilities would be endless.

Definitely on the ESP32. Recently started exploring those. Very cool!
