Z-Axis Linear Bearing Detached

Hi all,

I’ve had an A1 for some time, but only as a home user, so quite light use compared to some of the users on this forum.

Recently, the bearing housing on the left Z-access, has become detached and is sitting at the bottom of the rail (see attached photos & GIF). I have raised a ticket, and waiting for a response, but I don’t see how this can be easily fixed.

I recently watched a youtube video on an A1 stripdown, and access to the leadscrew area within the gantry looked as if it was made to be not really maintenance friendly. Anyone have any experience of this? I’ve spent hours looking for similar issues, but nothing yet :frowning:

Thanks,

Andy.

I wonder if is just retained by screws on the other side, did the screws fell? best is to wait what support says

Thanks for the response.

I wish it was screwed. The first response from Bambu is to use a press to reassemble the carriage.

No mention how to get access to the bearing carriage itself, let alone availability of a press.

I’ve queried it further, so let’s see what they suggest. I don’t think it will be an easy operation whatever the solution. The biggest issue is disasembling the printer to get access to the carriage and housing before lashing together some form of “press”.

yeah but also is a good learning oportunity  either way support should give you some help

Hi! Did you get a response from support? I received my A1 a couple of days ago. Right after assembly, it had problems with not being able to park if the Z-axis was at the very top. I suspect there was a lot of mechanical resistance at the top. The axis couldn’t be lowered even by hand with the printer turned off. The problem was solved by lowering the axis to the middle step by step using the controls, and then all calibrations, including the initial one, worked without any issues. The printer printed quite well, but then a bearing fell out, just like yours. It didn’t slide slowly down the axis, but simply fell down.

I have the same issue. Did you fix it?
