I have been putting off installing the new Bambu Studio until I saw some input here on the forum about other people’s experiences. Anyone having any issues with this new version? Good or bad?
In Linux Mint 21.1, that version crashes once out of maybe 5 to 10 times, usually when trying to start the camera up on my P1P. Other than that I haven’t noticed anything but am not at a point of making alot of changes to any print settings yet so that in combination of using within linux, I probably am not providing anything of value to you! Prior version works as expected. (Bambu_Studio_linux_ubuntu_v01.06.00.65_20230417141721.AppImage)
I have been told from my Tech Guy to be weary of “Linux People”.
Regardless, thanks for the info.
I was slicing a stl of a log with lots of contours, printed horizontally with a raft just fine. Since upgrading to 1.6.2.4, enabling the raft gives me an access violation when I slice. X1C on Windows 10.
Editing information under Project tab has been disabled.
@highrise955 I would hold off just now, I updated to the latest and are unable to send prints to the SD card, no timelapse either, I am able to print directly through the cloud…factory reset and reformatting the SD card hasn’t helped.
I wish that I had waited…as there are persons much smarter than I who can address these matters first.
Mind updated today, not the program will not even open. Just a blank white screen and the spinning wheel of death!
I just noticed the same thing. Using the Ubuntu appimage if that makes a difference.
I can’t select a color for Filament in AMS. No customized Color possible.
Agreed. A couple months ago after a firmware release several users reported they started having bed adhesion issues. This latest release seems to have multiple bugs that need to be addressed. Id rather wait for it to be stable.
Yeah, glad I held off for now.
This software release broke the application on my PC. It does not open, and reverting to previous versions does not resolve the problem. My $1500 printer is a paperweight
Try OrcaSlicer maybe that will turn your paperweight back into a printer
Does orca slicer enable project tab edit?
“I can’t select a color for Filament in AMS. No customized Color possible.”
Same problem here on Mac
It’s working good for me. It just completed a 10 hour print with zero issues.
@whomst - Check the X1 section. Several threads on this issue. You may have to go back to square 1 after verifying your printer network test passes - square 1 being with Bambu Handy app and reading the QR code from the printer screen like you were setting it up for the first time.
Solved my issues and I DID NOT UPDATE.
I noticed that too. Is there a way to add that information or is that functionality gone?
@rsegraphics Yes, but there’s a bit of rigamaroo involved
But it works
If you still have an old version of the slicer with profiles you would like to bring into the new version try this
Open the old version of the slicer
Go up to file
Click on export config
For the file name select downloads
It will export the non factory configs into a file
Close the old version of the slicer
In the new version go up to file and select Import config
Select downloads
At the very top of your download files will be the exported files which you can now select and bring into the new version of your slicer
Hope that makes sense, it works but like I mentioned there’s some monkeying around.
Still easier than starting from scratch or manually entering everything in again
If you have any questions or something I’ve written doesn’t make sense I’ll be more than happy to try and help
Orca slicer Project tab is editable.
