Hey @Ulade , I’ll do my best to not take your reply as patronising. I won’t go into too much detail because all of this is already amply documented here on the forum as well as on Reddit and other places, but this is all very FUDdy
If you do not, you get the “supports knocked over” and “crapshoot swaps” you described.
This is a well-documented issue that has affected a great bunch of people. BBL issued an interim gcode patch that fixes some of these issues for some people, and the permanent fix may have been in the latest Bambu Studio updates. They didn’t mention anything about “managing nozzle X, Y, and Z offsets” for this particular issue.
Multi material adds real material science
…and? I am fairly sure that most people will just mix colours. If you are mixing PLA and PETG, Studio will tell you to RTFM, and if you do something like adding PA6-CF to the mix, Studio will tell you that this will likely break stuff and if you really know what you are doing go flip a switch somewhere.

That isn’t unique to the H2D, and has nothing to do with it not being a good first printer. The difference, for example, between max H2D height and A1 height is only 69mm

All this “the H2D is not recommended for beginners” is just meaningless gatekeeping, triggered because folks call out BBL for releasing a “flagship” product at certainly flagship prices with many bugs and issues. I have well over 1500 hours on this printer and also have an X1C. I am set to purchase a whole bunch more printers, but right now I don’t know if they will be BBL.
Like I said, I need a tool, not a new hobby.
