2nd AMS unit Added and Unable to Retract Filament issues

I know there are a ton of issues/comments/fixes for this sort of thing, but I thought I’d ask because I am finding there isn’t a retract issue in my case.

What I mean is, I get the unable to retract dialog and if I simply click retry it retracts the filament and continues to print. So in my mind, the printer/AMS truly can retract the filament but it is a nuisance because the print will not continue until I press retry.

This seems to be happening on my new 2nd AMS attached to the Bambu AMS hub.

I’m wondering if there is anything special I should be doing when connecting a 2nd AMS to the system. Maybe I’m simply missing something with the way the PTFE tubing should be (or how long it should be) or maybe its which ports I should use on the HUB when only using 2 AMS’

So I figured I’d ask the community if you have any insight to this.

I have the same issue. replaced all the tubes. It does retract out of the tool head then freezes. The filament will move manually toward the tool head but not toward the AMS. Updated Firmware, self test and calibrate all completed. no change it will complete the print job but will not retract. this make the AMS useless for multi-color printing. Thank you

In my case, Bambu pushed a firmware update which solved my issue. I’d make sure your PTFE tubes aren’t pressed against a wall or something making the angle for the filament to run through tougher. That’s my best guess. Good luck!!
