The Wiki help section on this shows some features that don’t show up in my slicer. I’m running ver. 1.4.2.13 and am looking for the “surface” option to place text onto the object. Is this feature a part of a different software version? The slicer program doesn’t show any current updates.

Yeah I’m seeing the same thing. I’m guessing the Wiki has been updated before software update for it.
i also suspected that.

It’s possible that the “surface” option you are looking for is not available in the version of the slicer software you are currently using (1.4.2.13). It’s common for software features to evolve and change over time as new versions are released.
I would recommend checking if there is a more recent version of the slicer software available that includes the “surface” option. If there is, you may want to consider upgrading to that version.
software project description
Tryed the Text tool today (worked a few days before on a 3Dimensional Part) but now on a flat surface (just upwards z) exactlay nothing shown in slicer. I am very courious about this… maybe a bug of the new beta? but if that is the case, than why does it still happen after reinstall the stable 1.5.0.61…? do you have any experience with that?
