I’m having a slightly annoying problem when it comes to finding models.
In the OneDrive folder in the explorer, it shows some .3mf as you see in the image, but most of it does not. Coincidentally, the thumbnails that are not shown at the start are the ones that are not downloaded from makerworld (the ones that have a photo instead of a representation of the model). When I remove them from the folder to any other folder other than OneDrive, all the thumbnails look perfectly. But if I put them back in they disappear within seconds.
Any ideas?
You are not the only person experiencing this.
Some .3mf files in OneDrive do not show a thumbnail, but if they’re copied to Downloads and then back to OneDrive again (and overwrite the existing file), then the thumbnail displays until the View is changed (to Tiles, or a different icon size).
And it’s not just .3mf files. This is reported for some other file extensions too.
You can try clear the thumbnail cache and check that thumbnails are enabled in File Explorer Settings. But don’t get lured into installing one of those snake oil, fix-it-all third party apps that do backups and disk imaging and so on - they’re misleading garbage solutions just trying to make you buy their piece of junk app.
Thank you very much for your answer. It’s not that I’m happy that other people have problems too, but it’s reassuring to know that I’m not the only one. Before writing on the bambu forum I have already tried several solutions such as reinstalling one drive, downloading everything again, rewriting the files, deleting the thumbnail cache. I’m going to follow the problem in the link you gave me since it doesn’t seem like bambu studio is the problem from what you tell me.

I do not think it is just a OneDrive issue. Many of my .3mf files stored only on my computer do not show thumbnails. Often opening the file in Studio and re-saving the project will correct the problem.
I am facing “missing thumbnail” problem in file explorer. Normally bambu studio was creating the thumbnails automatically, now unfortunately it stopped.
