500 hours of printing

Getting very close to 500 printing hours on my p1s. Do i have to do any maintenance now or wait for the message ?

I don’t think there is a 500 hour maintenance alarm.

I clean my printer monthly. Since i print lots of ABS I do this maintenance monthly. With over 2200 hours of never breaking down.

This is the wiki for your printer.

Thank you.

So far i print 90% pla and ive tried pteg asa tpu abs and glow in the dark once.
Do certain filament make the printer more dirty then others?

Yes ABS/ASA are known to leave a film inside your printer. It should cleaned monthly when printing with ABS.

yeah, ABS leaves a heck of a film. I wonder why the cheap ABS does that, but in professional grade printers like Stratasys there’s no film created with ABS. I can run those for years with no film on the machines, while our Bambus it takes a week and the glass is FILTHY. I assume they have their filament dialed in to keep it clean.

Wipe and tension the toothed belts from time to time, wipe the guide rods and check the lubrication of the threaded rods (clean them if necessary); you will then see how much dirt sticks to the respective parts. Adjust the maintenance interval accordingly. I don’t think there is a fixed plan based on any filament or its consumption. In this context, however, you should check the PTFE tubes if you often work with abrasive materials (such as CF-reinforced materials).

im lucky to have X1Cs also so when they say clean rods i do the P1Ss i have. that being said make it a monthly task to keep it tip top, doesn’t take long. I only print PLA and PLA/Silk so not as critical but i want them to last and thus far 12000 hours in across 6 there great.
