I print mostly ASA. I want my parts strong. I have never printed with a .6mm. what would be the advantages? stronger? faster print?
I usually do 8-12 perimeters, 40% cubic infill.
my print time are 8-17 hours for some parts. I run my noz at 280 and use a smooth plate at 100.
I’m a little late on the reply so you probably already have a 0.6 but I’ll reply anyway. 0.6 on ASA lets you run fewer perimeters (5–6 instead of 8–12) and still get stronger walls. You can push layer height to 0.3–0.35 so prints finish a lot faster, usually 30–50% less time. ASA bonds better with the thicker lines so parts come out tougher. If you care more about strength and speed than tiny details, 0.6 is better In my opinion
thanks! I never tried the 6 yet. but I need a stronger part.I running 16 perimeters and still have breakage once in a while. I will try this. Thanks again!
i have been trying the .6mm and my prints are not as smooth, they have little bumps and the layers are not smooth. I have tried the calibration and the flow rate and it is still not quite there. my humidity is at 25%. I am going to replace the dessicant and dry my next roll and try again.
any suggestions on what to try?
