I think this is a great opportunity for upgrade kits.
More specifically for the toolhead upgrade if that is going to be the biggest change. I would not mind paying $100 for a toolhead instead of replacing an entire printer.
I dunno if you need to print with it right now, but since the release is Tuesday you could just hang tight with it before you decide until you see the full release specs and cost of the P2S
It is also to expect a sale for the P1S to get it of the shelf. Black Friday sales is top be expected with end of Oktober. Maybe this give an even better opportunity on the P1S.
My main concern with p1 series and why i didn’t buy it was VFA, it was awful, hopefully they will use different pitch belts for these new series
New, yet still using the sh1tty low quality display everyone was (still is) complaining about and happily went for third-party add-ons…
Long overdue, but I was hoping for a P2C with nozzle changing. My P1S still has a lot of hours to go before it has any need to get replaced.

My question is does the 2 in the name mean “2 nozzles/print heads” or does it mean “2nd generation”? If the latter, what makes it improved?
I could care less about the screen; I only use it to interrupt jobs or set the AMS to trying. Likewise the camera. Sure it’s awful but it does its job: remotely check to make sure the print hasn’t turned into a mess of spaghetti. That’s all it needs to do.
But the way they mess with the screen in the image sure does imply they’re updating it. Maybe it will have 5 lines now… 
The “2” is for second generation.
Would be nice if there was some option for those of us that have had a P1S for some time to be able to trade in for a lower price, a sort of cheaper upgrade option so to speak.
If this p2s is not compatible with the vortex system, i think that is useless a new printer…
The screen (color? bigger?) doesnt do diference using the app (and yes, i had an a1 mini, a1 and p1s and sold the p1s… never used the lcd having the app in my phone).
For me, the problem to solve is the too much purges, the complexity of changing the nozzle and the more, the sound printing.
I sold the p1s because for domestic use, in small 1 floor apartments with thin walls, even having the machine in a room, you could hear it printing throughout the house (even using the “compensation” for motor sound from the app, which is clearly not the same as what the A1s do for example), due to the echo, making it very annoying for the cohabitants…
Keep it unopened, wait 5 days for the release and if it’s not a big price jump and you think the features are worth it (probably will be) go for it and refund the old one. If it’s a lot more or the upgrades won’t really affect you then you’re good to unbox
I would bet a significant sum of money that it will not be compatible with Vortek. It’s the P series, it’s the workhorse printer. It’s not designed for crazy multi material prints like the H2C is going to be.
I just purchased the X1C with AMS2 yesterday, as it was only $200 more than the P1S with AMS2. I would have upgraded the P1S with the hardened steel hotend and the hardened steel material feed, and potentially the screen. Those upgrades have been about $200 so it seemed like a good deal. Is the potential change of hotend to the H1S style worth cancelling the order to get the refreshed P1 (assuming that it also gets the screen upgrade, as that seems a given)?
In my area, used Bambu printers seem to fetch good prices (for sellers) on ƒacebook Marketplace. Not as much as Prusas, but still more than half current MSRP. Most other brands you can hardly give away.
Please same hotend than the A1 and yes a better screen. I was to pull the trigger on the X1 but I’ll wait…
I can’t speak on that H2s or the A1 but I have the H2D and the P1S and they have two different hot ends.
The D in H2D meant dual, the S in H2S means single.
As stated already P, the 2 in P2S is generational.
I hope they deliver something of good value.
Especially a functional screen. It’s good enough if you run single filament, but using an AMS with a P1, you lose the opportunity to flexibly rerun prints from the device since you are unable to do the filament-remap interface.
I’m saying the new P2S will have same hotend toolhead as H2S. All machines same hot end production line.
