A new filaments 3-pagers to select the best filament for your prints!

Bambulab released so many great filaments to chose from. It can be difficult to select the right filament for the job, what trade off to favor: print speed, bending strength, impact resistance, heat resistance, compatibility with AMS/AMS lite, cost, nozzle size, annealing, etc.

I updated my 3 pagers PDFs to include the latest filaments, now including PLA Silk+ and PLA Wood.

I created a PDF per country/region that Bambulab has a store: Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, Korea, UK, US and the Global site. They are in A4 or Letter form as relevant.

Get the PDFs at Bambulab filaments 3 pagers.

The original Google Sheets is linked in the blog post so you can create your own custom one!

Here’s Canada’s first page to show what it looks like:

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing and making the effort. However, I’m uncertain what this guide provides that the Bambu guide doesn’t already provide? I’ll admit it’s very pretty though😚 but it runs the risk of being quickly outdated since it’s 3rd party.

It should also be noted that the link you provided simply links back to a page that links back to the Bambu Wiki pages and filament guides. So again, why is this needed?

Here’s the interactive guide from the Bambu Website.

What I like about it is that I can filter online and view the selection in the browser without the need to navigate three additional steps to download or open Google Docs which is always a privacy concern.

Here’s the link to their PDF. I keep a copy near my printer just to remind me when I forget certain settings.

While these are great and were a good starting point, I created the PDFs because these misses a lot of information that I needed:

  • They do not list different PLA flavors. It matters. For example PLA Gradient has more than twice the impact resistance of PLA Basic! PLA Matte is much more brittle. etc.
  • They do not show the max volumetric flow, which varies a ton even across PLA flavors.
  • They do not show the price. I don’t know about you but it matters to me.
  • The original Google Sheets enables me to add custom non-Bambulab filaments.
  • Some filaments are not AMS lite compatible but it’s not shown in these sheets.
