A1 AMS Lite Extruder Hub failing to stay connected to toolhead

I’m having this problem intermittently, but with increasing frequency, on my A1 w/ AMS Lite.

See pic.

The hub seems to pop off from the pressure of the filament being spooled into the toolhead.

The message generated from the error is “Unable to feed filament into the extruder. This could be due to entanfled filament or a stuck spool. If not, please check if the AMS PTFE tube is connected. 1200-8006” Resolving it involves re-rolling the meter of filament, aligning the little floating hub+clip assembly into the toolhead sensor base, pushing it down, re-running the job, and hoping it doesn’t pop again.

It’s not really clear what actually hooks together to hold this thing on, but it isn’t holding it very well. Any tips for getting this working more reliably?

Replacing it doesn’t seem to be in the stars, the part has been continually out of stock. AMS lite Filament Hub

Hi. I have the same issues. Especially when printing with the 0.2mm nozzle. A change of the hub wont change a thing. I had a spare one, replaced it - the force of the filament feeder is just too strong.

Search on thingiverse for this: " Bambulab A1 filament switching"

I am having this same issue. Has anyone found a resolution for this yet? My ams lite hub keeps popping out of my toolhead when my filaments are changing color…

I replaced the hub after it was eventually in stock and it has been reliable since.

There were some promising projects to reinforce that with the 2 nearby screws, I’ll go thru that if the problem comes back on the new one.

Hi. I’m having the same issue just today. Just want to comment so it’s known there are multiple users experiencing this. I might buy a replacement part as well since it worked well for you. Thank you for bringing this issue up for newbies like me.

when i first started printing, i noticed how much stress was being placed on the ptfe tubes at the hub and the ams so i printed out extra supports for both. they were something like this for the hub >>> PTFE & Cable Guide – 4 or 5 Holes – for the A1 and A1 mini by SimRacers HomeMakerWorld: Download Free 3D Models and this for the ams >>> AMS Lite PTFE Guide by GoodLuckeRMakerWorld: Download Free 3D Models . I can’t find the exact ones, but these are close. I think this will help minize the problem. The only time my hub came off was when the hub power cord went over the top of the cross bar and yarked the hub out. So now i make sure that can’t happen.
