A1 AMS Lite Top Mount Screw Size

Hey,

I just realised that on the web version of the AMS lite top mount guide the “feet” are fastened with 2 additional screws as displayed on the image below.

I did not find any included screws that fit in these holes. They seem very shallow. Anyone know the exact specs?

According to the AMS Light Top Mount tutorial the required screws are 4x M3 8mm. They should be provided with the printer’s accessories in a bag labeled “For Stiffener”.

There is no thread in the holes, and the screws will make a thread while mounting them. Thats why the screws look bigger than the holes and seem not to fit. So this are speacial shaped screws.

Thanks for the replies. Realised this earlier today while I was assembling a new top mount. Just had to thread the screws before I attached the inserts to prepare the holes. With a little force to align the holes it worked just fine. used M3x4 cap head torx screws I had laying around.

great, have fun with the printer

I was wondering the same thing. I think what he’s sayings that there are no holes in the printer for these screws to go into. My A1 doesn’t have any holes that align to the two red circled screws? do you have to make a whole for them to fit in?

@khogan16
No you don’t make the holes yourself. At least I would not. Too much risk to damage the lead screws or something else. If you do not have the holes you have to print different stiffener legs. There is the official top mount on Makerworld: AMS lite Top Mount for A1 by Bambu Lab - MakerWorld

Select the third print profile from the top (A1mini-Lite_top_mount-BigFeetCut 0.2mm layer, 2 walls). It contains the stiffener legs without the holes.
