A1 hitting top of Z and making grinding noise

I just stared a print on my A1, and the printer went to the very top center of the Z axis. It then proceeded to apparently go past the top, as it made a loud gear grinding noise. I quickly cancelled the print. Ouch.

How do I prevent this?

Please manually move the Z axis to the middle of the printer, using the on-screen buttons then home the printer. Next, try to start a new print and confirm if the issue occurs again.

If it does, I recommend opening a Customer Support ticket and sharing the logs, so our team can provide assistance.

Thank you.

I re-ran a full calibration. Then, I re-sliced the model in Bambu Studio, and it is now printing perfectly with no top banging at the start.

The first time I tried printing the tall model, I sliced it using Orca (with vanilla, default settings only).

So… perhaps there was some kind of gcode issue in Orca Slicer?
