Today while doing a cursory check on things I pulled the hotend off my A1 to have a look at it. When I did I discovered that the glue holding the magnet in place on the hotend had broken loose and the magnet stayed behind.
Any suggestions for a really good quality glue to use to reattach it. I know any thermal glue should work, but the particular one that’s on it now obviously didn’t.
If it’s any consolation the same thing happened on both my X1Cs that I print ABS on. Here’s what I used, if the reported operating range is correct it’s insane:
Operating Temperature Range: -650 to 1800F (-540 to 820C)
Yeah, I think that does meet the definition of insane. Far colder than the surface of Pluto and far hotter than “where’s the fire extinguisher.”
And my local Microcenter has it in stock.

The operating temperature rating shown on the Super Glue website for that particular product is incorrect. Whoever typed the info for the website added a zero to the end of each temperature. That is proven when you do the temperature conversions from Fahrenheit to Celsius. it states that it is rated for temperatures -650 to 1800F (-540 to 820C). Those temperatures actually convert to -650F = -378C and 1800F = 982C. If you remove the last zero from each temperature, then the actual operating temperatures for the Super Glue original formula gel is: -65 to 180F (-54C to 82C), which is correct. I sent an email to Super Glue to advise them of the error on their webpage.
I am going to try a different adhesive, JB Weld temperature resistant metallic paste. It has a continuous high temperature rating of 1000°F / 537°C. I will reply back here with the results.
