A1 Mini - auto nozzle cleaning not doing the job

Hi, I’m new to 3D printing, so please bear with me. This small piece of filament always sticks out of the nozzle of my A1. Before starting to print, the printer should remove it and then level the bed. The printer does all the work, but this piece of filament stays there and the printer levels with the sticking out piece. Only when the printer makes this 1st line does get rid of it, but when it makes a 2nd line right before printing, it often sticks to the nozzle, or is torn off and pulled onto the bed. It worked fine before. How to fix it? The problem occurs with all filaments, Bambu and other manufacturers.

Make sure your nozzle doesn’t have buildup on it. If it does, heat your nozzle to 220 for PLA, use a damp rag and wipe it as clean as possible, if there’s other stuff still on there, use a brass brush to gently clean it. Then zero your nozzle temp and wipe it with your damp cloth again

I think it helped - thanks.

If you didn’t happen to take off the silicone boot covering the nozzle, when it’s cooled down, take it off and make sure there’s no buildup on nozzle under the boot, inspect boot for filament inside and possible tears near nozzle tip opening.

This isn’t something you’ll have to do very often.

There was some build up there, but not much. It’s unfortunately damaged - do I have to replace it?

It’s not too bad, but I’d look into getting a silicone sock kit and replacing the damaged one soon. Actually - getting a “maintenance kit” might be a good option. Recently there was a sale but it looks like it has ended now, so kit of 3 socks is around 4 eur.

I bought it x3. Thanks for helping.

Another thing I did, was unloaded the filament and then I heated the nozzle to 280. After around ten minutes or so, most of the filament dripped off.
